AgriStart: FREE training to become employment ready…

If you’re between the age of 16-40, from a non-farming background in Powys, the new AgriStart offer can provide you with FREE accredited training in agriculture, forestry and horticulture.

Open to all, be you a GCSE student in Powys, Level 2/3 land-based course students at a further education college, or a YFC member from a non-farming background, there are a range of courses to choose from.

Be you after, e-learning, classroom, or hands-on training, the programme allows you to choose from a range of short courses in order to become employment ready with the essential qualifications you will need.

 

What courses are on offer?

Fully funded the courses are provided through the Lantra Awards network, available both face-to-face and online, they include:

  • Tractor driving
  • All-terrain vehicles (ATV)
  • Health and safety
  • Safety of children on farms
  • Safe use of pesticides
  • Rodent control
  • Conservation and sustainability
  • Woodland management
  • Livestock handling
